Make Sa Calobra Better!

Include Cala Tuent

Cala Tuent bay

If you are fit enough, completing Sa Calobra is a must on any cycling holiday to Mallorca.

But, what about making it an even better outing?

Add in the Cala Tuent section to make it a bit longer with even more brilliant scenery. This out and back scenic addition adds 10.5km of riding with + 334m of climbing no matter where you are coming from.

If you have the time and the legs, then the suggested route from Alcudia / Port de Pollença / Can Picafort etc to Sa Calobra is to go up into the mountains via the hairpins of the Coll de Sa Bataia and return by going down via the swooping Coll de Femenia and back to Port de Pollença works out at 113km of riding with 2374m of climbing. (103km and 2040m climbing without adding Cala Tuent).

If you are short on time but still want to include the Cala Tuent addition (you do, trust me) then book one of the scheduled Sa Calobra Express shuttles which take you from Alcudia and Port de Pollença and drop you at the Repsol garage in Lluc to save yourself a bunch of time and allow you to enjoy the route and the climbing with fresher legs.

Route details: Repsol garage at Lluc to Sa Calobra via Cala Tuent and back to Port de Pollença works out at 78km with 1583m of climbing. (68km and 1249m climbing without adding Cala Tuent).
